The Kane take 4th in Kahiko and 3rd in `Auana at the Merrie Monarch 2010

The kane performed Waialua Kau I Ka Lani Keha for their hula kahiko on Friday night, garnishing a 4th place award in the Kane division of hula kahiko.
Then on Saturday night, the kane performed Kou Ma`i (a name chant for the ma`i of Kalakaua), for their hula 'auana, receiving a 3rd place award for that performance. Some of the kane came off stage after their hula 'auana performance, so ecstatic with how wonderful the performance was, that they claimed "I feel even better about this performance than I did in 2007!" And while the judges have their own criteria for critiquing performances, the journey, feelings, and personal development for the dancers is what we should remember to take away from this 'Road to Merrie Monarch.'
Congratulations to the Kane for a wonderful performance at Merrie Monarch 2010.
